THE LONGER VERSION
OPENING PROJECT
HELLO
I’m Marvin, a Software & Frontend Engineer in Hamburg with an eye for design. I like making websites and applications that work well, feel clear, and have something of the person or people behind them.
WHAT I DO
You bring a question. Together we find what matters, sketch a clearer path, and build something real—one good decision at a time.
THINK / DESIGN / BUILD / REFINE
Before I reach for tools, we work out whose day should get easier and what is getting in the way. That gives the project a reason to exist.
I map the content and user journey, then prototype the tricky parts early. We can see the idea, question it, and make the next step clearer before the code begins.
I bring design and engineering together: accessible frontend, a useful content system, and details that hold up when the work meets real life.
THE LONGER VERSION
During my first job I built an ever-growing number of websites by the time. What ignited my passion in coding right at the start, was building and designing a trades' fair application for a big german bike parts manufacturer.
Sadly I don't have the apps sourcode anymore - I'd probably ick anyways, looking at it from today's perspective. But what have I been proud, seeing that screen running my app and people interact with it live
Starting a new role at a blazingly fast-growing company in Hamburg, teached me how rough ideas can ship within days. Being framework-agnostic gave me the possibilities to learn & adapt concepts, that backs my expertise in working with different technology today.
It also teached me how stressful it can be to work in a startup-environment. Anyhow, while things changed a lot through the time, I'd say it was one of the best times I had in work life yet
Today, I’m based in Hamburg with my own family. I bring design, frontend and user experience together. More than ten years into web development, I still care about what happens between the first idea and the finished thing.
While we live in a time where AI helps doing things quite a lot (which I already made peace with), it's more necessary than ever to have a human-in-the-loop. Experience is what matters a lot, especially when anyone can build something nowadays
In the early 2000s, when the web was still finding its feet after the dot-com boom, my dad built his own website. It had a guestbook and all the little details that made it feel like a place of its own. I was a kid, watching those pages take shape, and I was fascinated: you could make something, put it online, and invite the world in. That sense of possibility is still with me whenever I start a new project.
